Cut-out Workshop

The technique of the cut-out animation makes it possible to have more complex characters and backgrounds. Since there is no need to remake/redraw the character for each frame, the puppet can be developed in terms of shading and texturing. In the case of  Catican, the cut-out technique proved especially useful because of the style requirements. Printing out the pre-existing photographs, drawings and other visual material allowed us to achieve the wanted aesthetics without the practical knowledge of fine arts.
